An unofficial social network for teachers in the New York City Writing Project

I lay empty on my side bereft of my contents-sweet syrupy Pepsi! I am happy to be rid of my contents. I prefer to lay here in the warm summer sun instead of standing at attention with my contents inside me in a cold freezer. I also hated being constantly tilted as my contents were being poured out by the thirsty humans. My greatest fear was to fall and get cracked like Humpty Dumpty.
Now, I can leisurely observe what is happening around me and look back at my past and wonder what my future will be. I do hope these folks are environmentally conscious I don’t want them to leave me here lying in the park in the park for the elements to take their toll on me. I do not believe in reincarnation of humans but for me reincarnation is the way to go I want to be recycled and return in another life as an useful object. I don’t want to be another bottle, maybe a cupcake container like the one on the table beside me. I prefer solids, they dot leak. Anyway, while I wait I am enjoying the festivities and am watching to see which of my companions on the food filled table will be next.

It's interesting how you stuck to your area of content.

As I told you during our group reading, I really enjoyed hearing your story! The fact that you could take something such as recycling and turn it into the bottle thinking about reincarnation was ingenious!

I love it! It does my heart good to think that a Pepsi bottle might be worried about its environmental impact. =)
And I like the idea of recycling as reincarnation! It takes the imagination of a "science person" to think of it that way. Cool...
